2004 Tournament Results
Chetek June 26, 2004
The Stratos team of Ken Snow and Mike Mattis won the June 26th Chetek Chain tournament with 13.15 pounds. This was their second win in the first three WIFOM tourneys. They also caught big bass of the day and put a stronghold on the season points race. Snow and Mattis winning pattern was fishing deeper wood with black/blue ISG jigs. They would like to thank Warners Dock, St. Croix Rods, and Hoebsch Services.
Finishing second with 12.06 pounds was Bob Allen and Nathan Whiting. They used crankbaits in the weeds and wood. In a close third was Steve Salava and Duane Lavseng, who had second big bass at 3.82 pounds. Most of the 25 teams had limits and it seemed like everyone caught fish despite water temperatures being 10 degrees below normal.
The Friday night banquet was at the Celebration Station. The prime rib dinner, apple pie, and facilities were among the best yet enjoyed by our anglers. Kirk Pederson from Chetek Alliance Church, who helped host the dinner, was our speaker. He shared about having the right equipment needed for catching fish just as God has the right equipment and knows just what we need. Seven people invited Jesus into their hearts, four renewed their commitments, and three people had questions about Christ.
Our next event is July 9 at Balsam Lake, WI. The meeting/banquet will be at 6pm at the Pine Park Pavillion. Go 1-2 blocks to the west of Main Street, about 2 blocks west of the bank. If you are coming from the public beach launch, it is up the hill from that launch.
A big thank you goes out to Greg Hopner of Chetek Marine and radio station WWIB for sponsoring the dinner.
God Bless and Good Fishing,
Jeff
