2004 Tournament Results
Wapogassett May 8, 2004
The father and son team of Ron and Brandon Gann won the second event of the
Wisconsin Division with a five fish limit of 12.72lbs. The tournament was
held on Lake Wapogasset in Amery, WI on May 8, 2004. A 5.55lb largemouth anchored
their catch and won the Big Bass Award. The Ganns overcame a chilly morning
and an up and down week of temperatures by fishing a weedy hump with jigs.
Congratulations! Finishing second with 10lbs even was the Allen brother team
of Jeff and Tony. They also fished jigs with MG Lures plastics and had their
best success in the afternoon on shoreline cover. The key was to fish very
slow. Finishing third was Dave Hoard and Joe Wilcox. They caught their fish
deeper, but near the flats. Jigs were again the hot bait as long as they were
dragged slowly along. It was a great effort by our top finishers and all who
fished through the cold air and water temperatures.
The Friday night dinner was held at Wapogasset Bible Camp. The 33 teams enjoyed
spaghetti and meatballs. Rusty Roesch, Rainy Lake guide, pastor, and teacher
was the speaker. Roesch encouraged all of us to focus on the priorities of
our lives. Our hope and prayer is that these “priorities” include God. We
were also entertained by guitarist/vocalist, Chris Miller as he sang “ Shut
Up and Fish” Several people did indicate that they wanted Jesus to be their
Lord and Savior. We thank the good Lord for this and we also thank Stamina
Lure Components for sponsoring the dinner.
Our next event is June 26 at Lake Chetek in Chetek, WI. Right now it looks
like the meeting/banquet will be at 6pm at The Celebration Station in Cameron.

On May 29 we are holding an Open Tourney on Bone Lake near Siren, WI. The
same FOM format will apply, but you don have to be a FOM member to fish. Invite
your buddies! We will meet at Georgetown Lutheran Church in Balsam Lake at
6pm for our dinner. The address is 877 190th Ave Balsam Lake, WI 54810. Try
map quest for specific directions from your house. Mark and Lane Henck will
be feeding all of us with a venison dinner. It should be a great time! Enclosed
is a Bone Lake map and some directions to the lake.
