Wow! Can words describe the Friday night event? I don't know that I have them. The 30 teams were welcomed at the Georgetown Lutheran Church with a fabulous spaghetti dinner from the lovely ladies of the church. Another fine job from a great group of gals.

After the meal, the teams were presented the personal testimony of Mark Warbash. Mark left no doubts that there truly must be a God in order to have survived and be in the place in his life he is today. The Lord is truly using him in a special way to spread the word to all who will listen.

6am Saturday morning, the teams lined up in boat order to head for their secret location of fish for the tournament day payback of six places. It was the former division director, Jeff Bosshardt, and former regional director, Mark Schutz, who would bring the winning message to the scales with their five fish bag weight of 13.26 lbs secured by the second big fish of the tournament of 3.96 lbs. The catch was good for $1,065 for the day. Second place was the team of Bob Soderberg and Mike Schuett with their five fish weight of 12.90 lbs secured with a 3.95 lbs kicker just missing Mark's second big fish by .01 lbs. Their catch was good for $790 with the addition of first place in bonus bucks. Third place was secured by Chad Andrea and his dad, Chuck Andrea. Chuck was fishing in for his other son, Tim Andrea, who was at home with his lovely wife and newborn baby girl. Congrats Tim! Chad and Chuck's five fish bag weighed in at 12.64 lbs. The bag was anchored with the big fish of the tournament at 4.87 lbs. The catch earned them $735 with second place in bonus buck and the big fish pot. Fourth place went to the team of Rob Keller and Steve Bahls with a five fish catch of 12.43 lbs. The bag was good for $424 with the third place in bonus bucks. Fifth place went to the team of Steve Kordosky and Dan Winslow with a five fish limit weight of 11.59 lbs. The catch earned them $270 on the day. The sixth place spot went to the team of Jeff Allen and Ryan Otto with a five fish bag of 11.51 lbs which earned them $216.

Thanks to all the teams who came to fish. There are a few teams starting to wonder if they can still make the regional tournament. Yes you can! The top twenty teams will get an invite to go to the regional tournament. Right now there are only 12 teams who have fished all the tournaments. The key to making it this year is to show up and fish. With two tournaments to go nothing is guaranteed. The top ten teams are to close to call at this point. As all of us who have fished this circuit before know, it only takes one tournament to turn everything around. With two tournaments to go, Balsam Lake July 14 and Wappogasset August 11, we could have ourselves a shoot out at the end. Be there with us to see how it all unravels.
